A-17. Texas Level III – Commissioned Security Officer Training (ASP Baton & Handcuffing)

About Course
Level III (Level 3) Commissioned Security, or Armed Security, is the intermediate course that covers the state requirements of becoming a Commissioned or Armed Security Officer in Texas. This is the Required Level to Be Able to Carry a Gun. This is a 45-hour class in which you must pass a written test to become certified to carry a gun. The class combines classroom time, physical instruction on handcuffing, holds and restraints, and weapon retention. The student will also be required to qualify with a pistol and shotgun if desired and applicable. This security training course provides the Level 3 training as required by the State of Texas and Department of Public Safety.
